Alan, thanks very much for posting this.
All, I happened to have the day off today so went out there to have a look at her... man, this ship is really something. She's a diesel-electric jet boat, 377 feet long, throws a 30-foot rooster tail, can do over 45 knots and has a draft of less than 20 feet (I forget whether it's 16 or 18). She carries a 57-mm gun that can fire over 200 rounds a minute, also 21 missiles that are either surface-to-air or-surface-to-surface, and a small unmanned helicopter that's used primarily for recon, but can be armed as well. The interior of the ship can be pressurized against biological and chemical attacks... I hope they never have to use that! Cost $500 million and built in Wisconsin. The crew is really cool.
We were able to take pictures outside - let me see how they turned out and I'll post somewhere.
I'd like to have one to play with in my bath!
