Merlin,
When they made this switch it was the the 700 numbering system for just the fire and rescue unit numbers, but it hand nothing to do with changing their radio frequencies. When you listen to their responses on your scanner things like Engine 81 from Station 8 is now Engine 708, that's the 700 plan. Just like in Fairfax they are the 400 units and in PG County, when they respond into Montgomery County they are the 800 units.
Hope this is helpful.
Joe

Radio Reference states that :
Beginning on October 15, 2007 at 7:00 AM, Montgomery County Fire & Rescue will be switching over to the 700 Numbers as part of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG) Numbering System.
Have they done the switch yet? I have not changed the frequencies in my BCD396T and I'm still receiving MC Fire and Rescue on the old frequenicies.
Thanks.
