Don't forget the PRO-106 handheld (same as the GRE Digital) - it's on sale
for $400. 30% off would be nice if they'll do it.
Thank You Allen!
Rick

Well, several of the scanner groups have been buzzing about this...and
low and behold..it is true.
Radio Shack emailed out 30% off "friends and family" coupons. The
coupons can be found at the link below:

The 30% portion of this is good for in-store purchases
only...including the new PRO-197 scanner...the Radio Shack branded
version of the GRE PSR-600 digital scanner.
Now...here's the catch....nobody on the eastern seaboard has the
PRO-197 in their stores, and the coupon will not work for website
purchases. However, the manager at my local store in Norfolk was able
to process this as a DIRECT2U transaction. Essentially it is an online
purchase, but since it originates in the store, it is eligible for the
30% off. So my new PRO-197 should arrive in a few days for the bargain
price of $349.99 + tax. Shipping is free.
So, if you are in the market for a new scanner to do digital and want
one that can do 700 MHz like the BCD996T, here's your chance for one
helluva deal. Apparently this works for ALL Radio Shack brand
scanners, to include the 96 or 2096 which I have been told are now on
clearance.
If you have any questions...let me know.
-Jason
