Emergency Preparedness Drill at State Center Metro Subway Station

Safety Exercise on Saturday, October 18 will not impact regular MTA
service

(Baltimore, MD) October 16, 2008- The Maryland Transit Administration
(MTA) will participate in an emergency preparedness drill this
Saturday at the State Center Metro Subway Station in Downtown
Baltimore. Emergency equipment and responders from various local,
state and federal agencies will be on location. The drill will begin
at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2008 and will end at 5:00 a.m.
on Sunday, October 19, 2008. MTA regularly scheduled service will NOT
be impacted.

"Emergency drills like this are critical in helping various first
responders strengthen their abilities for real emergencies and to keep
our transit system as safe and secure as possible," said MTA
Administrator Paul J. Wiedefeld. "Maintaining our relationships with
the emergency services community is paramount, and these exercises
help us test the effectiveness of our current response plans and
procedures."
