Check out the Antenex line. I know there mag mounts also have an accessory
with a rubber cover for the mag side to prevent slip and rusting.

I have also seen some people put a piece of rubber in the lip mount to help
prevent damage.

Subject: [Scan-DC] Recommendations for mobile antenna mounts, and Hamfest
tomorrow (Oct 5)

G'day,

We have a new car and I'm looking for ways to mount the ham and scanner
antennas on the trunk. Drilling holes is a definite No No.

Does anyone know of any high-quality trunk lip mounts or other type of
mounts? A lot of the ones I've used leave small dents under the antenna.

Also, if I use a strong magnet and wax the heck out of the spot underneath,
are these thief or vandal bait?

I'd be thankful for any suggestions.

Also, there's a hamfest at the Howard County Fairgrounds tomorrow as well.

Rick
