Media Advisory

Public Safety Exercise

WHEN:   Sunday, September 28, 2008
  6:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

WHERE: Westfield Wheaton shopping center
  11160 Veirs Mill Road, Wheaton

WHAT: A public safety exercise which involves staging a full-scale
response as though there were a public safety emergency inside a large
commercial center.

 Montgomery County Police want to inform the community that this
exercise will be taking place and will involve both Fire/rescue
personnel and law enforcement agencies in tactical dress and with
special tactical equipment.  There will be loud noises generated
during the exercise after 8:00 a.m.  Members of the public will not be
permitted on the grounds of the Westfield Wheaton shopping center
during the exercise hours.  The shopping center is regularly open to
the public at 11:00 a.m. on Sundays.
