ERT - emergency response team.  I'm thinking it was a bad tactical
call on ERT's part given that you have a shooter in an enclosed
environment. ERT is what D.C. calls its SWAT team. If I were riding on
that boat and I saw the cops in a boat close by and some guy was
popping rounds at me, I'd be looking for Johnny Cochran's phone
number.   Apparently ERT hasn't learned much from the VaTech shooting.
(just my little 'ole opinion based on the posts I've seen hear - I'm
too far out of town to get coverage).
