YouTube?
Gawrsh, I've lived here all my life (50+), and darned if I can remember any jingles - can you refresh my memory with the words to any of them? This sounds interesting.
We lived in the Montgomery Hills area, and I used to listen to WTOP on one of those old germanium radios (whatever happened to them?). Their transmitter was (still is!) in Wheaton and WTOP was the only station that would come in on those germaniums. The evening DJ was a guy named Lee Shepherd, he played jazz... also on his show was a "singing weather girl" named (I think) Ruby Lee. He was also "Lookout Lee" on the Ranger Hal show. I think Eddie Gallaher on WTOP also? (Ed?) I later graduated to one of those "5-tube wonder" radios and discovered WRC and the Joy Boys (was Al Ross the morning guy on WRC?) My dad worked at the Naval Security Station at Ward Circle, Nebraska and Mass Avenues, right next to WRC, and he used to eat lunch in their cafeteria, would see the radio and TV personalities...
Gee, this is fun... we can take it off-line if need be, though.
Doug
