Did anyone feel or hear the quake at 1:30 this afternoon?  I was at home
just south of Falls Church, and heard a loud, sharp boom.  A window may have
rattled slightly, but other than that, I didn't feel or see any motion.

I immediately assumed it was a sonic boom, and went outside to look and
listen for aircraft, but observed none.  It didn't even occur to me that it
might have been an earthquake until I heard a news report.

I've experienced several earthquakes, including a large one, but had never
heard any sound associated with them other than sounds created by the motion
of buildings and objects.
