The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Montgomery County from 9am until late tonight. A developing storm system is expected to bring heavy rain to the area over the next 24 hours. Widespread 1-2" probable with up to 4+" possible in some areas. Expected heavy rain may have the potential to cause severe and unexpected flooding within the next 24 hours. This storm system also has the potential for hail and high winds.
Floods kill more people every year than any other weather hazard. Do not drive through flooded areas. As little as 2 feet of water can sweep a vehicle off the road. Please stay alert for any warnings.
A FLOOD WATCH is issued when there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. Creeks, Streams, and low lying areas should be monitored for flooding.
