Hey All,
I thought station 25 became a "super" station not too long ago meaning they have a "river rats" (strike team members) and they have "dirt diggers" who are the urban search and rescue folks and who knows what all else. I know they have or had a boat there but might be like Doug said that it's just when stuff gets dicey and all the creeks and streams start to overflow.
Just for mentioning, the some of the other teams are the URT (Underwater Rescue Team) also called the dive team, based at station 29 in Germantown not to be confused with the HIRT (Hazardous Incident Response Team) and I think they used to have a high angle rescue team but I have heard anyone refer to that in quite a while.
Anyone else we're missing?
JB

Roger, Montgomery. The "strike teams" are the water rescue guys, mainly at the Cabin John stations, 10 & 30. (Why "strike team"? Who knows.) By the way, with the new numbering system you may hear them referred to as 710 and 730. They are both near the Potomac River but may be redeployed to other parts of the county during a potential flood situation.
