[Scan-DC] Breaking News Network (UNCLASSIFIED)

As a former BNN reporter and a former 1stResponder Wireless News =
reporter, I
can say that 1st RWN is covering a lot of states. When I was with them =
last
year, they had NYC, NJ and PA locked up with coverage. They have awards
programs for the people to win for submitting X number of reports. They =
have
no problem booting you out if you don't submit the number they think you
should. I remember it as 1 per day. They did buy up several smaller
companies. They offer email and pager services.

Hi Jason,

I agree - I hadn't heard of them either. I did a web search and looked =
at
their site. Kinda busy looking web page what with all the ads on there =
and
whatnot. Took a little digging and looks like they claim to cover the =
entire
US. I haven't heard anything from Firecom lately, maybe they bought out =
what
was left of them, who knows.=20

Oddly enough, as a long time BNN reporter (since, oh, 1994 or so...)
I've never heard of 1stResponderwirelessnews. Did they replace one of
the other 'companies' that come and go?

It's a good outfit, but BNN does require the new or 'junior' reporter
be 'vetted' prior to just firing things all over the pager. This can be
annoying to some, but the process works for the most part. =20

I am a member on 1st Responderwireless News. BNN is notorious for
reporting bad news. I would stick with 1st Responder.

Greetings, just wondering how many folks are reporters on BNN? Just
joined
Scan-DC last week or so, mostly intend to be a lurker.
