Tower just reported the disabled plane is on a 30 mile "final" (3:32 pm).
CNN claims he may do a fly-by of the tower for visual inspection of problem
(maybe landing gear).

AA 862 having unknown mechanical problem, diverted to Miami, will be doing
an emergency landing. CNN.com has real-time video and tower audio going now.
