[Scan-DC] Verizon Center frequencies

Hey guys,

Thanks to everyone for their feedback on the frequencies. It does seem like
I must have been getting Metro's 161.025 MHz signal from their headquarters
near VC. Interesting that it is both digital and voice. Their own radios
must somehow totally mute the paging junk and just pass the voice traffic
when necessary.

Sorry, I did not think to put on the tone search feature, so I didn't grab
the tones for the 461 frequencies. I was too pre-occupied imbibing in
scanner fluid and watching the Caps lose the game. It was kind of cool
knowing which section was going to be targeted next for T-shirt give-aways
and stuff (the 461.8125 MHz frequency).

Is MOTOTRBO a digital system that can't be scanned?

GL,
Andy

161.0250 is definitely Metro's paging frequency. It's originating
from Metro's headquarters, which is right across the street from the
Verizon Center. The signal is quite strong, so it sets off Close Call
from even inside Verizon.

Verizon Center's primary frequencies (the ones in the low 461.xxxx
range--not the two you found) switched to MOTOTRBO digital several
months ago. That's why you didn't hear anything out of them.

Do you happen to have PL/DPL tones for 461.5125 and 461.8125?

Thanks,
Dave
