Snow Removal Operations
January 16, 2008
10:30 a.m.
Department of Public Works and Transportation
Highway Maintenance Section
101 Orchard Ridge Drive, 2nd Floor, Gaithersburg
Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett will host a tour of the
County’s new Storm Operation Center, which is expected to improve
storm response by bringing together improved technology and storm
managers in one location. One of the Center’s innovations includes the
use of Weather Bug®, a web-based local weather forecasting system, to
help target resources to areas most impacted by weather conditions.
Montgomery County is the first local jurisdiction in the nation to use
Weather Bug® in this way.
Joining Leggett will be Montgomery County Department of Public Works
and Transportation director Arthur Holmes, Jr. and Weather Bug
Government Sales Coordinator Stuart Hershon.

Turn right at Orchard Ridge Drive and stay on the road as it curves in
a semi-circle. The building is located on the right at the end of the
semi-circle. Parking is available in the building’s parking lot.
