My unit  (PG Accident Reconstruction Unit) have many nights like that.  I.
personally, have handled 5 fatals in one week on call (this past July),
which included 3 in 24 hours.  Just this year we had one day where we had 4
fatals in a 24 hour period.  Last year, 5 in a 24 hour period. It can get
busy out there!
