Subject: [Scan-DC] Frequencies for Gathering
I've been trying to put down some conventional (ie non-trunked!) frequencies
that might make for interesting listening for our upcoming Gathering at
Gravelly Point on 18 Nov. (The reason for the non-trunking is that I have
an old Bearcat BC-55xlt portable that I plan to bring along.)
It's amazing how much stuff has moved over to 800-trunking!
Here's what I've come up with so far:
154.13 Arlington County Fire dispatch
166.92 US Park Police
169.225 US Capitol Police
165.5375 US Capitol Police
I've also found the following frequencies, but RadioReference.com indicates
that they are APCO-25 (ie digitally) modulated, so they probably won't be
intelligible:
162.075 Secret Service, White House
162.3125 Secret Service, Embassies
415.2000 Federal Protective Service
417.2000 Federal Protective Service
RadioReference also indicates that these are often encrypted (surprise).
I haven't included any avaiation frequencies here because the BC-55 doesn't
receive the aviation band.
I hope to program my BC-796 with the Alexandria and Metro Washington
Airports Authority systems and some aviation frequencies before the
Gathering.
Comments, questions, additions, corrections?
Doug
