I don't believe (all though I am not sure) that there are any grade crossings along that route.. Need to check Google Earth.
BTW, VRE really does have an excellent reputation. I am very impressed with their customer service and attempts at ensuring the service runs smoothly. Of course there are hitches, but VRE really tries to overcome them. Much better than their partners to the north...

Yea!!! I wonder who was blowing the whistle at the grade crossings,
I am not familiar with the trackage, surely there may have been one or
more..
Somewhere around the early 90's, not sure of the year, Richmond's flood wall
had been completed. A crew was on a scaffold checking a gate, I seem to
remember
what was probably a CXS got loose, ran quite a distance, struck the closed
gate
and did some serious injuries to the workers.
