The max auto store bug you referenced also applies to the search and
store setup option as I discovered the hard way. The manual is
incorrect when it states that a maximum, I think, of 256 frequencies can
be stored. If "256" is entered an error message displays to the effect
that no more frequencies are available. I spent 3 hours on the phone
with tech help on this situation and the tech help guy kept getting the
same error message as I did. Eventually on a return call I was advised
to enter a value less than "256" that the user's manual was in error.
Ok, then why doesn't Uniden have a known errors section on its website
for the various scanner models instead of having various users
experience the situation and call tech help? I recommended to the tech
help guy at least they have a common reference document in the tech help
office of known problems that could quickly checked by technicians. I
would have thought that this error would have been detected in beta
testing but it wasn't. Later on a Radio Reference user forum I
discovered this error had been experienced, posted and discussed.
