I apologize if I inferred tapping the 996.  I tap my older scanners as they
go out of date.

Adding a Discrim tap is great but wait till the warranty is up then add a
tap.

Your best bet is to check our RR and see if you can send Paul an PM as he
was one of the designers.

BTW the 996 is great. I got it the second week it was released.

Also, just an FYI.  If you want to play with the 996 decoding one of MPDC's
freqs in conventional mode, you will find the most traffic on 453.45 since
it's at the "top of the stack".  If you look at MPDC on one of the trunking
programs like Unitrunker, you will see 453.45 seems to always get hit as if
trunked channel requests start at the first freq.
