Here is a list of various F. B. I., Department of Justice and Department of
Homeland Security VHF frequencies. In a post to come he will detail the UHF
frequencies. This is a list of frequencies that the author KNOWS to be
correct. Some of them have been in use for over 20 years.

Most communications are now handled by a cell type telephone system that
functions with satellite and ground repeaters. These frequencies mesh with
cell, 3G, and Nextel frequencies. They act much like the Nextel System,
which is quite interesting considering that Nextel itself was designed just
for that use. They just did not get the contract. Nextel was left with a
functioning network that had to go "Public" or crash, the rest is History.

The below lists of frequencies are transmitted with a CTCSS tone of 167.9
Hz.

These frequencies are generally used when you observe an agent with two-way
radio. The following are Low-Band VHF frequencies that are used for convoys,
vehicle tracking, aerial tracking, long distance radio surveillance, and
general station to station communications. (i.e. Command Post to Command
Post)

The below frequencies are the hardest to monitor.

The frequency 122.9000 AM is used for Aircraft Hi-Jack negotiations.

The frequencies 156.3900 , 156.5700 (liaison w/ Coast Guard) and 156.6900
are used when working with the Coast Guard and when working inland lakes.

The following is a list of VHF FM frequencies. There are many, try not to be
discouraged by the number. Much of what is here is simplex. Consider them
simplex frequencies unless otherwise indicated. This is actually much easier
to monitor. Expect to hear both Digital Voice Protocol and Pulse oriented
scrambling as well as clear voice radio traffic. I have noticed that when
the SHTF with these guys they do not bother to scramble. You may hear
nothing for some while or until a bank robbery or such occurs in your area.
Then suddenly they get hot!

The following is a list of dual use frequencies. These frequencies are used
for two-way communication and BODY MICROPHONE SYSTEMS. More often these
listed below are some type of voice operated transmitter that may be key by
sound or not. These frequencies are assigned to the FBI under various call
signs and cities. It seems that the Origin City does not make any
difference. So it varies from place to place.

Here is a list of commercial body microphone and bug frequencies on VHF;
most can be purchased at any sound store or on the Internet. I have had many
reports of Federal Agencies using these frequencies after hastily purchasing
a commercial device.
