PUBLIC SAFETY DAY THIS SATURDAY

The second annual Public Safety Day in Ocean City will be held this
Saturday, May 12th.  The event will be held at the Public Safety
Building parking lot on 65th Street.  The hours are 10:00 a.m. until
1:00 p.m.

The event is designed to showcase all facets of public safety
equipment, programs and services that serve the town of Ocean City.

Participating this year will be the Ocean City Police Department,
Ocean City Volunteer Fire Department, Elks Lodge of Ocean City, Ocean
City Fire Marshal and Bomb Squad, the Ocean City Beach Patrol, and
Emergency Medical Services.

The public is invited to inspect the latest emergency vehicles from
the fire department including an aerial truck, paramedic engine, and
chief’s vehicle.  Also on hand will be the bomb disposal unit and
robot.  They will have their bomb suits on display.

Kids may also interact with Ocean City police officers including a K-9
dog and a member of the bicycle unit.  An EMS Paramedic unit will be
open to the public, and paramedics will be there to perform blood
pressure checks.

The Elks Lodge will be on hand with their drug recognition displays, a
handy tool for parents.  The Beach patrol will be displaying their
equipment including surf rescue vehicles

We encourage everyone to come out for a day of fun.
