I haven't heard any actual operations on the P25 system, other than
Metro Transit Police and some maintenance work, which has been going
on for quite a while.  But I hear testing almost every night.  First
it was in tunnels for a month or few, then it was buses.  The tunnel
testing is often one person saying something like "Leaving
station...entering tunnel...entering station...stopped...leaving
station..." while someone else would acknowledge him.  Sometimes they
talked about signal level, bad amplifiers, etc.  Lately they have been
testing buses, which seems to involve logging onto the bus radio,
sending a distress signal, and some sort of GPS locater system.  This
past week I heard some talk about testing cross-patching the P25 to
the old analog system that required one of they guys to go to the
Metro OCC.  

I would think that they would be operational soon, but that is what I
thought months ago after all the testing that was done then.

Has the Metro Rail changed over to the P25 trunk system yet? While on
one I
noticed they had the portable in the seat as normal and was an ICOM.
