[Scan-DC] NOTAM ... This just in

Normally, restricted area P-40 is 4 nautical miles wide. When Trailblazer is
there, it's 10 NM wide, which comes to just a few miles north of Frederick
Muni Airport. It's a VERY good thing to make sure you know which one is up
before you fly around there.

P-40 is indeed Camp David.

If you want to see all the restricted and prohibited areas, you can buy a
chart from the FAA. The Washington sectional will give you the greatest
area, the Baltimore-Washington Terminal Area Chart will give you more
frequencies and more detail. Finally, the Baltimore-Washington Helicopter
chart shows helicopter routes and frequencies.

AOPA also has a list of TFRs at any given moment, and they also provide
warning emails:

==> ATTENTION PILOTS <==

CAMP DAVID TFR TO EXPAND WEDNESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY
Pilots flying in the Mid-Atlantic area are cautioned that the temporary
flight restriction (TFR) area centered on Prohibited Area P-40, the
presidential retreat at Camp David, Maryland, is expected to grow
larger. Based on information from the FAA, the TFR will extend to a
10-nautical-mile radius below 18,000 feet beginning sometime Wednesday,
November 22, and continuing through Sunday, November 26.

AOPA will post the notam on AOPA Online as soon as it becomes
available. See ( http://www.aopa.org/whatsnew/notams.html ).

Because TFR airspace frequently changes, AOPA strongly encourages
pilots to obtain a briefing and CHECK NOTAMS before every flight.
TFR violators will be intercepted and forced to land.
