Sorry if this is a trival question but I don't think I
am fully understanding the term "trunked system".  

I live in Cecil County and we just transferred over to
a VHF EDACS IP System from M/A Com.

The Fire Main is dispatched over a Conventional Freq
and then the groups are told to change to another
channel and that is where I go deaf on my scanner.

The Police Main is all trunked.  I am use to the basic
conventional system put in the freq and you are go to
go.

I have a dual trunking scanner.  Can I scan a trunked
system?  If so, how?

Any information would be greaty appreciated.
