[Scan-DC] Scan DC - Pro96, still worth it for Fed monitoring/Milair?

Rick,
I agree save your pennies. The Uniden 996 cost me 549 delivered but there
have been places offering it less. I plugged in the 380 FT Meade system and
when I go down tomorrow I'll let you know how well it works. But so far it's
a great scanner.

G'day,

I have a chance to pick up a Pro 96 or a Pro 2096. I'm interested in
monitoring the 380-400 MHz fed bands, and I occasionally do some Milair. 

Are these radios serviceable for these applications, or not workable at all?
