Subject: Arlington County Crime Info -- Arlington Police shoot,
     wound man    suspected of assaulting officer

At approximately 11:45 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, an Arlington officer saw a vehicle registered to a felony suspect wanted for attempted malicious wounding of a police officer.  The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver fled into D.C.  
  
Once in D.C., the suspect attempted to run over an MPDC officer, and an Arlington officer fired two shots, hitting the suspect once in the chest.  The suspect was transported to a hospital with apparently non-life-threatening injuries.  
  
No officers were injured during the incident.
