Ahh... The old 4-channel Fanon Courier!!!

Remember that one WELL!!! Mine was the portable, the only portable
**scanner** that gave the option of using a REAL convert-a-com. The side
had an external antenna power/charge, speaker, **and** antenna jack that
would receive the one piece molded plug that supplied the external
power/audio/antenna when the portable was in the convert-a-com. BOY, DO I
MISS THAT BABY! I sure wish they made a true convert-a-com for one of the
new portables!

WRT to the BCD396T I sort of think the dynamic memory works well and maybe
for some old schoolers it was difficult to understand but I found it quite
easy actually and I have owned scanners since a 4 channel Fanon Courier
scanner was state of the art. Perhaps for a newcomer to the hobby it will
be no more difficult than the old bank and channel system since a newcomer
would not know any other way. Just my thought before the 396 gets axed.
