  Thanx Bob - we've had these freqs on the fire/rescue page on the CHM website and on RadioReference for well over a year now, but not this official designation. Looks like it's time to update both. I'll send these descriptions to the RR team, and update the fire/rescue page.

New Radio Channels Added


	

The Prince George 's County Fire/Emergency Medical Services Department
has recently added several radio channels to increase operational
effectiveness and availability.   All previously used frequencies remain
the same, the addition includes channels 8, 9 and 10.

  

*	Currently, all calls are dispatched over the Fire/EMS
Departments main dispatch frequency; Channel 1.  

*	Incidents involving Emergency Medical Services including crashes
involving personal injury will respond on Channel 2 ( North County) or
Channel 7 ( South County ).  

*	Incidents that involve a significant response of suppression
units, i.e. structure fires, technical rescues, haz-mat, etc., will
respond on an operational channel as follows: 

Channel 3 - Primary Operations Channel for South County . 

Channel 4 - Primary Operations Channel for North County - with
exceptions below.

Channel 8 - Primary Operations Channel for Woodrow Wilson Bridge .

Channel 9 - Primary Operations Channel for incidents in Beltsville and
Laurel.

Channel 10 - Primary Operations Channel for incidents in Hyattsville,
Mount Rainer, Bunker Hill, Chillum-Adelphi and College Park .

  

A general guideline for dividing south and north Prince George 's County
for dispatch is Central Avenue .

  

Public Safety Communications will announce the operations channel to be
used for response with the dispatch of each call.
