Hi Mike,

Yea, I was kind of skeptical myself based on the info that had been going
around, so I parked a scanner on it.... SUCCESS, WA3NAN was there and
broadcasting!

Subject: [Scan-DC] anything from Goddard?

While we were all waiting tosee if the Shuttle was going to launch, did
anyone happen to check the old 147.45 Goddard retransmission freq? I made
some spot checks and heard nothing. I would guess that the HF freqs from
Goddard were also silent.
Per some conversations I had from folks at Goddard (while I was still
working in the Riverdale area), it would seem unlikely; a lot of the folks
working there are contractors, and with the heightened security, the guards
wouldn't let them into the complex after hours. This would be necessary to
comply with the amateur rules regarding station control; if a link were to
fail, someone would physically have to go there to address any problems.
I had hoped this issue would be resolved by now; perhaps not. My info is a
bit dated; I hope I'm wrong. 73s Mike
