Hi:
Yes, you are correct - it does come with a BNC/SMA antenna adapter. In
fact, I'm using that now with the RS antenna that you recommend (which is
longer than the radio itself)- and it works much better than the stock
Uniden antenna. However, I'm trying to capitalize on the size of this
scanner by finding the smallest quality 800mhz antenna available. I carry
this radio around in one of my cargo pockets, and I'd like not to have an
antenna sticking out of my pants...
Thanks again,
CA

I could be wrong, but I think the 396 comes with a BNC/SMA adaptor; if so,
the RS 800 Mhz antenna that's been mentioned many times on other boards
should work like a champ.

Subject: [Scan-DC] 800 mhz antenna for bc-396t
Hi:
I'm looking to buy a new 800mhz antenna for my Uniden bc-396t scanner - I
monitor mostly trunked 800 systems so I am willing to forego reception on
the other bands. I'd like a short 1/4 wave antenna. Any suggestions? The
connector is SMA.
Thanks,
CA
