Anything visible along the roofline ?

Carolinas Medical Center (Charlotte,
N.C.) has all three helo pads staggered
on the roof of the main building (about
8 floors up).

They also have an active, rotating
construction crane for lifting / moving
construction materials on the
neighboring building. Flightwatch has
contact
with the crane operator, and the crane
is locked down prior to any helicopter
approaching / departing the trauma
center.

Other flight services also transport to
CMC, and no one seems to have a
problem with it. When wind or weather
conditions affect safe approaches, the
helos
are diverted to Charlotte-Douglas
International Airport, where the helos
can
land at either the FBO or Charlotte PD's
helo facilities.

>> I don't recall those two medical
centers having a helipad. Even if
they wanted to install one I don't know
where it would be. Things are well
developed in their areas plus the ch. 23
TV monster tower is too close for
comfort when flying around the
Chippenham area.

>> Today I made a couple of passes
around JWH to see if they may
have landscaped a helipad or LZ into the
turf, nothing, not even
a wind sock unless someone has it on
their foot.Chippenham has a pad.
