I am a Uniden Dealer in Gaithersburg and a member of Scan-DC.  Uniden has
anounced 
the BCD396T which is a hand held digital scanner that will replace the
BD296D.  It is about
half the size and weight.  It has a whole new storage concept similar the
BD246 in that it can
have hundreds of systems and talkgroup.  It should hold all of the systems
in Baltimore/Washington
area instead of only 10 systems that the existing Uniden and Pro96 can have
active at one time.  

It uses 3 AA batteries, has two tone paging for fire alerts, and has AGC as
the Pro 96 does. You can 
visit several of the scanner web sites for detail specs.   I am placing an
order and expect the radios 
by July.  I am selling them for $540 each.  List is $850.   I expect these
unit to out sell all others 
high end units and will be in short supply for about a year.  If you are
