The Coast Guard cutter Thetis (CG-910) has been out near Chesapeake
Beach most of the day and it just came close enough to the shore that
I noticed they were doing some small boat operations with an
inflatable. Not sure what, but flipped on the CG freqs to see if it
is some drill or a rescue.

Hello,
I was wondering if it was possible to program conventional frequencies in a bank with a trunk system?
For example, the first memory channel would be a conventional and all after that would be one specific trunk system.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I put my trunked system in first then put my conventional frequencies in and
it works fine. Zane

From 'WMBio' on the RadioReference Maryland board;
http://webpages.atlanticbb.net/~mkasekamp/scanner.htm
Credit is given to Kasey, KK3L for the system set up
The receiver is on a 1500 foot mountain top, it goes off line from power bumps, we are getting a UPS to add to the unit for reliablity.
It should play fine with Win. media, I am listing to it right now.
Kasey ( KK3L ) is getting ready to interface the scanner for freq changes from home, this list is not complete since this is a work in progress and has only been on line 2 weeks. We are trying to add
PL tone decode to get rid of the low band skip.

Since I know there's a good deal of interest in this, I've copied the Blue Angels frequencies from the March 2005 MT and made a couple of files out of them. There's a .csv file called blueangels.csv in the files section of the MD_Scan Yahoo group, and a similar file (which had to be renamed to a text file because of the requirements of the board) has been placed in the RadioReference Maryland forum.
These files can be used as input for Excel, Works spreadsheet and numerous scanner programs such as BuTel's, Scan Control, Radio Manager, ect. To keep the file fresh and up to date, I'd suggest checking the MT website, Milcom (on qth.net), Milaircommschat, and several others scanner lists.

Are there any AM-Band DX'ers among this group who would like to share their
thoughts regarding any really good commercial (i.e.not home-brew) antennas
for the AM band ?
I know Terk offers some, but their reviews are not so promising.
What about the Palomar unit that has the interchangeable freq. range
specific plug in loops ?
Thanks ...

Looks like 363.9 and 389.10 are both busy today; 389.1 has been listed as being used with 'Wild' and 'Angry' callsigns (DC ANG), and I'm not sure as to who's using 363.9. Both are being used for A-A and coordination. Also it seems the NJ boys are up on 138.425
