Actually, I think I heard one of the Cabin John "ambalances" going into 
Fairfax today and use a 7-designation.

OK, so, for example, Engine 241 would be Engine 724 under the new system, 
and Engine 242 would be Engine 724B?

Second question - will these designations be used at all times, or only on 
major incidents involving several jurisdictions?

By the way, it sounds as if Montgomery County has gotten away from the 
"Rescue/Medic/Extrication/Engine" designations, or at least a good part of 
them... thank goodness!

(While we're at it - sounds like they don't dispatch a squad on all 
accidents - oops, collisions! any more?  I need to read over the squad 
workgroup report again!)
