[Scan-DC] "Fill the Box" fire call

While we're at it - the fire station in Falls Church is actually operated by
Arlington County in that the career personnel there (or whatever the current
politically correct term is!) are ACFD employees, and the station's calls
are dispatched thru Arlington.

I think Sim is correct about Ffx being 10 boxes and Arlington being 7s. I
haven't quite figured out the station numbering now used in NoVa - a friend
is an Arlington firefighter at what is known there as Station 5 (near
Pentagon City, I think on Eads Street, but the apparatus is called Engine
105, Truck 105, and Medic 105... the 10 (one-oh) referring, I think, to
something set up by the local Council of Governments re Mutual Aide? In
that same scheme of things, I'm told that Montgomery County is 7... but then
the Arlington box areas are all 7### - with the second digit being the
station # (ie station 5 are 75 boxes, station 3 {cherrydale} are 73 boxes,
and the last two digits referring to the specific geographic area /
location.

No doubt that someone here will correct me if I'm wrong, and also explain it
better than I have!

:)

Regards,

Doug

(Box 28-10, Paul-4 Beat, sorry, I don't remember the "CRA"!) ;)
