[Scan-DC] I need help

As Doug said, I too am perplexed by the reply that John gave to our new 
friend here.  I got the assumption that Mr. Hulley considers himself a fairly 
intelligent fellow, but has gotten a little lost as he tries to learn the best way 
to get his scanner programmed.  I've been reading John's posts since the early 
1990's when I got into scanning, and have never seen him post anything like 
this, perhaps he's having a bad day.

Anywho, my first suggestion would be to purchase the ARC250 programming 
software (http://www.butel.nl/), as this will make life much easier.  There's still 
a lot to learn with talkgroups, control channels, and the such, but you'll 
find yourself 100x more relaxed moving channels & talkgroups with software, 
rather than trying to remember them, or scroll through the screen on the scanner.

I'd be happy to come up there and help, but since I'm more than 100 miles 
away, I'll let some of our more "regional" folks try to give you a hand first!
