The White House Police became the Secret Service
Uniformed Division. Here's what the Secret Service
says on the history section of their site:

"White House Police responsibilities increased
significantly in 1970, to include security for foreign
diplomatic missions in the Washington, D.C. area. At
the same time, the force was renamed the Executive
Protective Service. In 1977, the name was changed
again to the United States Secret Service Uniformed
Division."

The embassy security division used to be called
"Boardwalk" from what I remember back before their
coms went encrypted 5 or 6 years ago. [obligatory
scanner content] They also appear to have units that
patrol DC streets and do traffic stops - at least I
see a lot of them doing traffic stops in the Adams
Morgan & Dupont Circle areas frequently.
