Folks,
A little while ago jack put out some question/comment about he F-14s is
doesn’t hear much these days. I shot him an email and advised him to plug in
the FACSFAC VACAPES freqs below as well as the ones for Norfolk and Oceana
as well as the A-A for the F-14 Squadrons listed below.
While I was at it, as opposed to just sending him what was needed, I decided
to send him my list of freqs as a whole. He could pick out what he needed
and might just see something else he could use. I copied the SCAN DC list as
well but it was in HTML format and it got kicked back as too big. So after
20 minutes of cleaning it up I am trying again.
There are some F-14s down in OCEANA. I think they are due to disband the
unit in another few years. I had a buddy transfer out of PAX to an F-14
Squadron down there but they are gearing up to deploy soon. I don’t keep a
close eye on them or anything Giant Killer related for that matter. But, for
what it is worth, here is my list. You go through here and plug in the
FACSFAC VACAPES freqs and the F-14 Squadron freqs listed here and you will
hear them. Might also help to plug in the Norfolk and Oceana freqs as well.
Now here is my official disclaimer “THIS LIST IS A WORK IN PROGRESS”. There
are some freqs here that are used by multiple units but I do not list them
that way at this time because it would complicate my current project and
database. Also, some folks might disagree with the way I have named some of
these. It is not my intention to put this out for public scrutiny as it is
still a work in progress.” But I thought it might be handy for Jack and
figured while I am at it I would put it out publicly.”
Please do not swamp me with emails about possible corrections/additions or
whatever. This is a work in progress and it has a long way to go and I fully
intend to add detail to this as time permits. I find it fun to confirm
things myself and also confirm the details myself. It’s no fun if everybody
hands everything to me. ;-) But if this spurs some interesting comment and
discussion on the list. Then I did good.
This list is in the early stages of development and I look forward to
spending oodles of time enjoying my hobby and confirming and adding more
detail to this list as time goes by.
I know there are things here that some folks won't understand. Don’t
hesitate to ask. But please post it to the list so that others who don’t
understand might see the question asked and will hold on asking it. I am
probably opening up myself to a lot of public scrutiny here but my intention
is only to possibly promote healthy discussion. There could quite possibly
be something I have that I have not realized others were not aware of. This
is my effort to offer it. Every one of the frequencies have been picked up
by my search scanners and have been labeled by myself through my own effort
using the understanding I have of how things work. So In a nutshell, all of
these frequencies are currently actively used freqs. With the possible
exception of VMFA-321 who do not exist anymore as of 9/11/04. The names I
have on the freqs may not jive with other peoples conception but at the time
I tagged the freq, that seemed to be the best way to tag it so that later I
can regroup these freqs into their various user groups and add more detail
to them.
