There really aren't all that many frequencies available for the
non-intimately-involved 'forces' and so some frequencies may well have
shared components.  143.975 is currently listed on the Army MARS VHF/UHF
Frequency List and carries the designator MFH.  I don't KNOW whether or not
it is shared with other organizations, but it could be.  That's what I've
got on it.  Vic

Jeff,

I believe Ed is correct. 143.975 FM is a Civil Air Patrol freq usually used
by aircraft when they are on patrols.  The MD CAP Wings do quite a bit of
patrolling, especially over the Chesapeake Bay as part of their mission
looking for
oil spills, pollution, etc.
