I have been using a Kenwood TS-B2000 for mobile reception of the MilAir band
which it does a good job at other than the scanning is slow. The RC-2000
remote head is very small.

The PRO-96, once opened up, receives 225-400MHz well also. Although around
381MHz where the 1st IF is at it suffers a 20dB or more loss of sensitivity
for about +/- 5MHz. But since the 380-399.9975MHz is now the new DoD LMR
band the MilAir stuff there will probably move down once more repeaters come
up.

icom ic2720,i bought one after a friend told me about his, installed with its

remote head loaded with 200chs of milair 138-143/225-380 am and it works as
good as my r7000,so if you want santa to get you a small mobile scanner/ham
