Go to <www.butel.nl> and purchase the ARC250 software and locally buy a RS232
serial data cable. 99% of your 796D programing problems will be eliminated.
The Uniden supplied software is pathetic. I spent two weeks of frustration
trying to program the 796D. Fortunately I was told about the ARC250 software.
Programing the 796D now is no problem.
