I am not at all familiar with it but I belive I have
seen some stuff about a remote head for the BC-780
XLT. With future hope of supporting the 785.

The floowing was cut and pasted from The Scanner
Master site :

Scanner Master BC-780/BC-785 Remote Head Project
Update...

It's finally here! After nearly three years of
development, the Scanner Master Remote Head 780 Kit is
now available. Mount the front-head of your 780
anywhere in the cab of your vehicle (on-dash,
under-dash, on-ceiling, etc.) with either velcro or
use the Uniden-supplied mounting bracket. The unique
Scanner Master bevelled-edge design of the front-head
enclosure allows you any number of mounting angles and
options. We also supply a metal plate to cover up the
back end of the receiver.

A few important points: 1. This will be a kit that
with which you can modify your scanner to turn it into
a remote unit. No soldering or hardware modifications
needed! 2. We have set a price on the kit as $369.95.
This has been a very time-consuming and expensive
engineering job. 3. We should have a remote kit for
BC-785D scanner shortly after the 780 product is on
the market, but it is not a certainty. There are
differences internally between the 780 and 785 that
must be addressed. 4. At this time, the remote head
kit uses a standard CAT-5 Ethernet cable which can be
used with just about any length of wire.
