Okay, gang - first of all, thanks much for the help - I've had a number of
replies, both to the list and privately.
The good news is, I'm "10-8", or "got my ears on, good buddies", or whatever
you prefer... thanks to some of you here, I was able to download a trial
version of the ARC software and a .mem file and can actually hear something
now with the radio, so I'm making progress!
Still trying to figure out how to separate the wheat from the chaff, though,
so to speak, in that I think what's currently happening is that I'm just
scanning all (well, probably not all) of Montgomery County's 800 channels -
I guess, to listen to specific things, this must be where the talk group
business comes in... that's what I'll be fiddling with today, I reckon.
I owe some of you some private replies, will get back to you later in the
day.
