Just a bit of clarification on the Powhite issue.

The SmartTag system was installed in the tunnel that runs underneath the tollbooths, which allow the tolltakers to go back and forth from one toll area to the next without having to worry about their unfortunate demise from being struck by a speeding vehicle.

Also, while the SmartTag system was out of service for some time at the 50-cent toll on the Powhite, it has been back in service for at least 3 weeks.  Currently, the only thing not working are the automatic toll collectors and the "stop/go" lights.
