Always a thorough and well-researched answer from
Dave. I would add that if you plan to listen inside
the stadium, use an over-the-ear headset. Otherwise,
with all the noise, you won't catch much of anything.
Get a pilot's headset or one designed for auto racing,
if possible.
When I was there with a scanner several years ago, I
grew tired of hearing security people discussing who
was in the wrong seat. I searched media frequencies
and found a great channel used by the Redskins radio
broadcasters. It had the audio of the broadcast,
interrupted by a spotter who identified the penalties
WAY before they were announced elsewhere. IIRC, it
also had chit chat among the announcers during
commercials. Very good listening if you're actually
watching the game. Go Redskins!
