NORAD Exercises Planned For D.C.
Expect Low-Flying Aircraft Wednesday Night

WASHINGTON -- The North American Aerospace Defense Command and the
Federal Aviation Administration will conduct training flights over the
Washington late Wednesday evening into Thursday.

The flight-training exercise will involve NORAD fighters and other
aircraft flying at low altitudes along the Potomac River and around
the District. The training flights are scheduled to begin at 11 p.m.
Wednesday and should conclude at about 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

NORAD has conducted similar exercises throughout the United States and
Canada since the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
