[Scan-DC] counting hits - Department of Homeland security freqs

That's pretty neat how the pgm counts the freq hits.A great bit of info 
when unattended to see what's hot & not.

Maybe that's normal for radio/p-c use? I don't ever use the p/c for scanner 
use exept to make a recording now & then.

   Yes, it allows me to check the active freqs and see who might be or was 
using them.  If memory serves, 162.25 is a Capitol Police freq, so it makes 
great sense that DHS would have it in their bandplan.
   Al, I see in your sig that you are using the PCR1000. There are several 
programs that could accumulate this kind of info, and yes, this is a very 
normal function when tying a PC and scanner together, as I did yesterday. I 
think the acknowledged champ for this scanner (freeware, anyway) is TalkPCR 
which can be found here - and there's even a Yahoo group for it:

   The software page at Strong Signals has a great many others (hmm, looks 
like my TalkPCR links need some work). There's even a Yahoo group for the
