I was out roller skating (yeah, no kidding), and when I got back home, I
saw some fire engines down the street. I couldn't park my car until one
of them backed out of the dead end street. It looked like a ladder truck.
The number on the side was 203, and that struck me as odd. In Alexandria,
truck 203 was one of the rare pieces of equipment painted chartreuse, and
this truck was red. Well, it wasn't Truck 203. It was Tower 203. I've
never seen that one before. "203" typically denotes equipment stationed
at the fire house in or near the 2700 blcok of Cameron Mills Road.
Maybe this is news, and maybe I'm out of the loop, as usual.
As for the nature of the call, it was probably a false alarm being sent
by a smoke detector to the security company, which then called the AFD.
There was no evidence of any damage to the house.
