This is a drill.  We are using the vacant stores for search and mayday
drills.  Units will be rotating through for the next several weeks.
Once they tear down the section of the shopping center we are drilling
in now it will hopefully be used for some US&R search drills before the
rubble is hauled off.  The owner is very accomodating.

You will normally hear several maydays as each set of crews rotate
through the drill locations.

We are also conducting similar drills at various times in Rockville and
Bethesda.

Several units from all over the county have been dispatched there
(routine)=20
to the "staging area".  Opns are on 7-Charlie (800 meg digital) and I'm
deaf=20
there...

I drove by there and not much going on, altho several (10 or a dozen)
pieces=20
of fire apparatus in the parking lot and a group of firefighters in
turnout=20
and scba gear in front of a vacant store.  (Note, several stores in this

center appear vacant.)

I didn't _notice_ any hazmat equipment there, but didn't look hard,
either.
